![]() All ACOTAR Books Ranked, Worst To Best (spoiler free!!) ![]() Maas’s books are very fast-paced with a huge ensemble of characters, all while staying developed and complex in a world filled with lore and magic. Some of my favorite things about this series are the world-building and the ever-expanding cast of characters. Overall, I do find the series super fun, ~flirty~, adventurous, and worth the read for any NA/YA fantasy reader! We will get to that when I talk more in-depth about each book in the series. However, high school Paisley and current Paisley have slightly different takes on these books now. Back then, my very world was shaken by these monumental texts. I first read the ACOTAR books when they were published in 2015, and I made sure to keep up with the series as they were being released. Whether you have read the series and are looking for a fellow ACOTAR fan to talk all things Rhys and Feyre, or if you are just looking to get into this series, this post is for you! (Only kidding! The story is unique in the series with its period setting (Potter drew the costumes from the collection at the V&A museum, then the South Kensington Museum), and was based on a true story that Potter had heard while staying with her cousin Caroline Hutton in Gloucestershire: an elaborate waistcoat had been commissioned for a grand mayoral occasion, but the tailor lacked the time to complete it and needed another packet of cherry-coloured silk - though more prosaically, it was his two assistants who had secretly finished the work. Potter had the tale privately printed, as Warne had not yet published The Tale of Peter Rabbit and she did not think her publishers would want a second book from her so soon. The Tailor of Gloucester was first written and illustrated for Freda Moore as a Christmas present in 1901.
